The science of air movement.
Most people think the job of a ceiling fan is simply to blow air. But the genius of a MacroAir fan is based in aerodynamics. Because when air is properly directed, it can be a powerful force for comfort and savings. Ideally, an HVLS fan will send a column of air down and out 360° towards the walls, back up the ceiling and back through the fan. Optimising this airflow with the least amount of resistance is what makes a MacroAir 6ixBlade™ fan the industry’s most efficient fan.

That cool feel is real.
By increasing evaporative cooling and constantly exchanging air, HVLS fans are the perfect mechanism for cooling. MacroAir fans cool so efficiently they can deliver savings of up to 15% on cooling costs. You’ll enjoy reduced air temperature on hot days. You can run your air conditioning on higher thermostat settings and yet maintain the same comfort levels.

Heat your space, not the ceiling.
In most buildings, heating is mounted overhead so it won’t interfere with working space. Unfortunately, this results in heat stratification, which creates energy-sapping layers of hot and cool air. The temperature on the ceiling may be as much as 15 degrees higher than on the floor where you need it. MacroAir fans solve this problem beautifully. HVLS fans redistribute the pool of overhead heated air and mix the air to eliminate the hot and cold spots. They also minimize the amount of warm air that has to be continuously replaced with cold outside air to achieve adequate ventilation. Typical heating savings are 20% or more.

EC Drive Technology
Fans Direct has taken a technical leap forward and with the range of MacroAir fans now featuring EC drive. The new EC drive unit matches a high reduction gear box with a permanent magnet DC motor. The development is a world first for HVLS fans and brings some significant benefits for end users as well as installers. Motor hum, inherent with AC motors under VSD control is completely eliminated making the fans the quietest in their class. On board motor electronics allow manual or auto ‘sensor feedback’ control as well as seamless integration with Building Management Systems. The removal of bulky VSD’s makes installation faster, easier and cheaper.
